SCHOLARSHIPS

The Challenger Scholarship Program is intended to provide middle and high school educators, particularly those working in underserved schools, with the resources and tools to help their students be innovative and successful lifelong learners. The field trip programming is designed to ignite their students’ potential in STEM and provide an unforgettable learning experience. The award amount is determined by the number of applications and available funding.

Field trips include: two-hour space mission simulation, IMAX 3D documentary & a space science demonstration. Students must complete a post field trip survey.

Please note: Only middle and high school educators are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to teachers from underserved schools in Florida.

Each educator interested in bringing a group of students must fill out a separate application. Duplicate essay responses are highly discouraged and combined applications will not be accepted.

All scholarship recipients are required to attend a full-day professional development workshop on October 6 or December 2. Educators only need to attend one workshop. Workshops include a $100 stipend, pre & post mission materials, and standards-based content, resources and tools.

Applications must be completed by Friday, September 22, 2017. All educators will be notified by Friday, September 29, 2017.

No program will be entirely funded by the Challenger Scholarship Program. Transportation costs are not included.

Florida schools only. Scholarships generously funded by the Florida Space Grant Consortium.
