Michelle Personette is the Executive Director of the Challenger Learning Center, a K-12 STEM outreach facility of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. She began her career working on promotions and marketing in the Entertainment & Tourism industries, developing campaigns for The Florida Everblades (an ECHL hockey team), Florida Gulf Coast University Office of Recreation and Leisure Services, Universal Orlando, Holiday Inn Family Suites and others. She received much of her fiscal experience while working for the University of Central Florida College of Arts and Sciences in the Budget Office. When Michelle moved to Tallahassee in  2011, she was hired as the Challenger Learning Center's marketing, sales and communications manager and in that role planned the pre-opening promotions, marketing, group sales and fundraising efforts of the center. In 2005, she was promoted to the center's executive director and currently oversees all aspects of the Center’s operation. Michelle has a bachelor's degree in English from Florida Gulf Coast University and her master's degree in mass communication with a concentration in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida. Michelle is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee, Class of 25 and is a current or former board member of the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle, Tallahassee Convention and Visitors Bureau, Kleman Plaza Design & Review Board and others.

Borland

Susan Borland received her bachelor's degree in Health Education and began her masters degree in Science Education at SUNY Cortland and continued her masters program at SUNY Stony Brook. She has over 20 years experience teaching science in New York and Florida. She began her career with the Challenger Learning Center in Tallahassee in February 1999 and was involved in all aspects of planning of the center. Susan has had extensive experience in curriculum and workshop development. She currently serves as Education Manager of the center and is involved in curriculum planning and alignment to standards, workshop preparation and delivery, camp coordination, grant writing and all facets of managing the education department. In addition to her duties at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee, Susan serves as a network consultant and mentor for the Challenger Center for Space Science Education network, is on the Champions Board for the Caring Tree program of Big Bend Hospice and for High School/High Tech in Tallahassee. She was one of the 2008 Children's Champions for Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend.

Harry J. Hawbecker received his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Texas Christian University. After graduation, he moved to Tallahassee were he took graduate physics courses from Florida State University. During the same time period, he instructed Astronomy, Physics I, and Advanced Placement Physics classes for Florida State University High School. Harry started at the Challenger Learning Center in 2004 as a planetarium instructor and flight director. He currently is the Program Assistant. His responsibilities include flying mission simulations, maintenance of simulation equipment, developing and up-dating mission scenarios, producing new planetarium pre-shows, training part-time planetarium instructors and flight directors, and providing Flight Director demonstrations.

Lambdin

Reed Lambdin was born in Indiana but was raised in Tallahassee. Reed has spent the last 19 years working in the motion picture industry and came to the Challenger Learning Center in 2005. Reed completed a month-long training in Canada to become one of the few Certified IMAX SPP Technicians. His responsibilities include operation and maintenance of the IMAX and Planetarium equipment and theatre, inventory maintenance, data reporting and tracking, as well as building and equipment upkeep and set-up.

A Macedonia native, Nenad (Nick) Pavlovik is a Garnet and Gold Scholar that graduated summa cum laude from the Florida State University, College of Business with Bachelor of Science degrees in multinational business, accounting and finance, as well as an M.B.A.  Nick joined the Center over 10 years ago and has brought to this position a broad range of operation management, finance, accounting, and budgeting experience.

Originally from North Carolina, Emily Brown graduated from Furman University in 2009, receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. She now calls Tallahassee home after graduating from Florida State University with a Masters degree in Arts Administration in 2011. Emily previously served the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee as Group Sales and Membership Coordinator from 2011-2013, where she scheduled field trips and events for groups all over the Southeast. During the same time, Emily also served as the Executive Director of the Tallahassee Community Chorus from 2011-2013. Her responsibilities now include organizing all marketing and promotion efforts for the Challenger Learning Center.

Originally from Melbourne FL, Samantha received her bachelor's degree in communications from Florida State University in May 2013. Samantha previously volunteered with the American Cancer Society, St. Baldrick's Foundation, and served as the president of RENEW, a mentor program within the Florida State University Counseling Center that focuses on students' emotional wellness. During the summer of 2013, she completed an internship with BowStern Marketing Communications, and joins the Challenger staff as the Group Sales and Membership Coordinator. Her responsibilities include scheduling field trips and special events for groups throughout the Southeast, as well as managing facility rentals and memberships.

A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Teri attended St. Petersburg Junior College and has over 29 years of professional administrative experience with the State of Florida. Teri began working as the Office Manager at the Challenger Learning Center in 2001. After a brief retirement, Teri couldn't stay away from the CLC and is back to serve as the Office Manager once more! Teri is welcomed back to our staff to handle all Human Resource and office operations of the Challenger Learning Center.

Keith has previously served Florida State University’s Office of Financial Aid by conducting various outreach activities that focused on teaching student financial literacy. Keith currently serves as the Guest Services Manager at the Challenger Learning Center.
