Field trips to the CLC provide students with a unique opportunity to witness science in action, from the awe-inspiring visuals of an IMAX film to the mind-bending simulations of space missions. These experiences go beyond textbooks, creating lasting memories that shape future scientists, engineers, and innovators.

It’s becoming harder for teachers to take their students on field trips and experience hands-on STEM opportunities. One of the largest hurdles is high transportation costs. Whether it’s public school buses or private transportation, school systems struggle to afford it.

In order to provide equal education opportunities to students across our entire service area, we provide scholarships for field trips, transportation, and in-school outreach programs. Sponsor a scholarship and make a difference in the lives of a entire class of students.

In order to create extraordinary experiences for students we invest in unique STEM equipment that connects students to classroom concepts and promotes further learning and interest. Teachers that receive these resources are able to enhance the curriculum in their classrooms for years to come. Below are some examples of our most requested items.

Sponsor a Child for Summer Camp

Summer Break provides an opportunity for students to explore subjects and activities beyond the confines of the regular curriculum. Exposure to new ideas, hobbies, and experiences broadens their horizons and encourages a sense of curiosity. We believe every child, regardless of their financial background, should have the chance to explore the exciting realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Together, we can empower the next generation of thinkers, creators, and problem solvers.

Your sponsorship ensures that financial limitations do not stand in the way of a child’s curiosity and potential. By bridging the gap, you help level the playing field, allowing every child to explore and excel in STEM fields

IRA Distributions

At age 72, IRA owners are required by law to take mandatory minimum distributions. IRA owners can transfer gifts tax-free to the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee. Transfers must be made directly from the IRA or by writing a check from the IRA up to a $100,000 limit. If this giving option is right for you please call the FSU Foundation at (850)644-6000 for the information you need to initiate a transfer through your broker.
